Clinical Documentation & Support Letters

The letter should reflect the person, not just the paperwork.

I provide support letters for Emotional Support Animal accommodations and gender-affirming surgery. We use the time to understand what you’re asking for, gather what matters, and make sure the final document is accurate, complete, and useful to the person reading it.

What this service covers

Two kinds of letters. Same careful approach.

Emotional Support Animal documentation

We will look at what is going on in your life, your mental health needs, the role the animal plays, and what your landlord or another receiving party needs from me. The goal is to understand the situation well enough for the letter to accurately reflect what is going on and how the animal supports you.

Gender-affirming surgery support documentation

We will talk through your history, goals, understanding of the surgery, and the support you may need before and after it. I will also review whatever details your surgeon or payer needs included. My role is to understand what you need and write a letter that accurately reflects it and answers the right questions. The process is not about making you prove your identity or earn permission from me.

The process is thorough, but it is not an audition. We use the time to connect the pieces, clear up anything inaccurate, and make sure the final document says what it needs to say. You should understand what I am writing, and the person receiving it should have the information they need.

How it works

01

Start with the request

We start with what you are asking for, the background that matters, and what is happening now. You do not have to unload your entire life story in the first meeting. We need enough context to understand what you need and know where to look next.

02

Go deeper

The second session goes further into your story, needs, goals, and the specific questions the letter needs to answer. This is where we slow down, connect the pieces, and make sure I understand the situation rather than filling blanks on a form.

03

Letter preparation

The letter is written outside the attended sessions. That professional time is billed at the equivalent of one standard individual session.

04

Review the completed letter

In the third attended session, we go through the completed letter together. We check names, spelling, factual details, anything that needs clarification or correction, and what happens next. I do not simply send you a finished document and call it done.

Fees

Three sessions. One documentation charge.

The service includes three attended sessions, each billed at the applicable state-specific individual session rate. Letter preparation is billed separately at the equivalent of one additional individual session.

Afterward

No required therapy tail.

Completing this service with me does not sign you up for ongoing therapy.

If I think more support would be useful, I will say so plainly. You can continue with me when that makes sense and you want to, or you can work with someone else. If you would like help finding another clinician, we can talk through referrals.
